LisAnns uses Secure Server Technology (SSL)
The main goals of Secure Socket Layers or SSL are:
· Privacy : The contents of a messasge transmitted over the Internet can't be
understood by a casual (or determined) observer
· Integrity : The contents of a message or transaction received are correct and have not been tampered with · Authentication : Both the sender (you) and the receiver (shopping cart) can be sure of each other's genuine identity How it Works 1.) An SSL session begins when your browser and the LisAnns server agree on a cipher suite (which version of SSL they both support) The strongest version that can be supported by both systems is always chosen. 2.) A secret key is then created and shared between the server and the browser. Only the server's private key can be used to decrypt the secret key generated by your browser. The shared secret is used as the key to encrypt and decrypt the HTTP messages (your shopping session) that are going back and forth as you "checkout". This phase of SSL is called the key exchange 3.) The browser then requests an authentication of the server's credentials by examining its Digital Certificate. You may verify the server's authenticity at anytime once the small golden padlock appears in the lower right hand corner of your browser window. Double-click on the padlock to learn more about the Digital Certificate installed on the LisAnns / securesites.com server. 4.) Your shopping session will enter the secure mode when you click the "Checkout Button". At that point the padlock will appear and the URL (web address) will reflect two changes.
a) The http:// protocol will change to https:// signifying the switch to secure transactions
b) The URL will read https://lisanns.securesites.com/ which means you are now under the watchful eye of the securesites.com digital certificate If you have any questions with regards to SSL and Secure ONline Shopping, please contact us at Webmaster @ LISANNS |
